Trauma is an inherent part of the Jewish historical narrative. Whether in biblical or modern times, the reality of forced removals, eradication, violence, and threat has recurred through Jewish experience. This session looks at how historical trauma affects Jews today. It runs through he basics of trauma, inherited trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and how these themes show up across cultures and the world. From PTSD to epigenetics we examine the topic through spiritual, psychological, scientific, and experiential lenses.
