Louisiana is now ground zero for women's rights in the United States. On March 4 oral arguments began at the Supreme Court and activists from across Louisiana stood on the steps of the court in Washington DC to speak out on behalf of women across the country. Depending on the outcome of the case, Roe v Wade may be overturned and the right and access to an abortion may be lost in over 20 states.  While some countries, like Rwanda and Ethiopia, are liberalizing family planning and abortion, basic rights for women in the United States are being taken away. Join Tamara Kreinin to discuss the well-being of women and girls globally and in the United States -- from the 214 million women around the world who want contraception and can't get it to the 37,000 girls who are married each day and taken from their childhoods. Kreinin will then take us back to Louisiana and discuss how we can each make a difference for individual women as well as improve the systems that do not protect them. Core to Tamara's own activism are values grounded in tikkun olam and fundamental Jewish views of the world.
